Our Story at BellaZinga
Where to begin.
I always knew my daughter was different, even when she was in the womb. Seriously, I kid you not.
And when I say different, I don't mean better or worse than other kids...just...different.
Being an autism mom comes with it's own set of obstacles and challenges, but it also comes with some pretty great advantages.
My daughter, Bella, is amazing in every way possible. She's smart, funny, and couldn't give a F#@k about what anyone else thinks.
Of course, it's been a long journey, starting with learning about her differences, educating everyone around us about them, and constantly advocating for the support she needs not just to survive but to thrive in a world build for neurotypical people.
As a single mom, I was hoping I could rely on help from sources like Autism Ontario, and Respite funding, but after nearly three years on a waiting list and still no sign of help in sight, (thank you soooo much Doug Ford), I decided I needed to find another way to make money for her special needs.
After a particularly funny quip from my brilliant kiddo during one of our walks, BellaZinga was born.
These products are a little of everything. Sass my daughter throws at me every day that sometimes doubles me over with laughter and sometimes makes me think.
Prints celebrating her special areas of interest, such as Henry the VIII and his wives, and just lately the different goddesses from mythology (so proud of my little feminist!), and I've also added some of my sayings that I hope can help people learn more about the neurodivergent community and make life easier for those of us with invisible differences.
I hope you like our products, and if you have any ideas you'd like me to incorporate, please, feel free to reach out.
We're all in this together.
